A modern update of one of our greatest successes, our official Olympic sweater from the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics. However, the shape has been modernized for a regular fit, so that this model fits normally. The pattern remains more or less unchanged from the original, which was a great success 30 years ago.
A bit of mythology: this sweater is adorned with symbols and figures from Nordic legends: Frøya, the goddess of love and fertility, and her ability to foresee the future; Odin, the most powerful and wisest of the gods, riding Sleipner, the fastest horse in the world; two ravens, Hugin and Munin, symbolizing thought and remembrance, one pointing forward, the other backward. And Yggdrasil, the evergreen World Tree, its branches reaching for the sky, its roots anchored in the underworld. It is said that Odin, pierced by a spear, discovered the meaning of the runes during his nine-day, nine-night ordeal on a branch of Yggdrasil.

Our premium yarn from South American crossbred sheep, produced exclusively for Dale of Norway.This light and soft yarn is perfect for mid-layer garments requiring a lighter and softer feel. To make it machine washable it undergoes a revolutionary new wool treatment using natural non-toxic salts. Machine wash using wool-cycle.
